I know that this is a little unorthodox, but a comm reminded me of an old story, and I would like to share it with all of you.

Title: Reboot:The Chase
Author: [livejournal.com profile] beatrice_otter
Pairing: N/A
Fandoms: Star Trek the Next Generation and Stargate:SG1
Rating: PG
Summary: This is what we leave behind.
Warnings: Umm...The mass death of almost the entire Galaxy
Spoilers: Up to Season 10 just before Counterstrike of SG1 and Season Six about 3/4 of the way for STTNG episode The Chase

Why This Must Be Read:

If you know anything about Star Trek or the Stargate universes then you know that they have a completely different Aliens, Technology, and History. In my mind, they use to be completely separate and there was no way, besides alternate realities and wormhole shenanigans, that they could ever coexist.

Beatrice showed me different and wove this intricate background on how these two universes coalesced. Her two stories "Reboot:The Chase" and "Reboot:Legacy" are amazing and thought provoking. I do not want to give any more of the plot away, because I want to let her share the revelations with you in her wonderful stories as she did with me.

From Chief Master Sergeant Walter Harriman's Journal:

“The thing about working in the SGC is,” he says after a while, “you get used to the end of the world. Happens all the time. Well, not all the time, but we come close a couple times a year. People die, go missing, are crippled physically and mentally and emotionally, and yeah, shit happens, but it happens a lot more at the SGC than anywhere else in the world. The galaxy, it feels like, sometimes. Felt.

“You learn to joke about it, take it in stride, because you’ll crack like an egg if you don’t. I remember, the second year of the program, when we started up the annual Galactic Villain award, some people were kinda shocked at how we were poking fun of the Earth almost getting destroyed. We did Best and Worst costume, Most in Need of the Evil Overlord List, Stupidest plan, Most Likely to Succeed, a bunch of others. By the fifth year, the award ceremony was the highlight of the year. By the seventh, some of the younger recruits were lobbying to send trophies to the ‘winners.’” He looks straight ahead. “But how do you joke about the death of an entire galaxy?”

Hi! I would like to be friends it is so rare to actually come across someone that has grown up in fandom. I sadly do not update this journal often due to time constraints and bad habits. If you want to talk to me your best guess is to im or email me at grinners123@yahoo.com :)

I actually have a bigger version of that icon as a wall paper. It is a motivational poster with Merlin your doing it wrong, and Merlin the early years.
